Oakland University Engineering Center Building

TEC was retained to provide geotechnical engineering, construction materials testing, and support during the 2013-2014 construction of the new Oakland University Engineering Center. The new Engineering Center Building includes about 134,000 square foot of state-of-the-art instructional, research, and development space for the Oakland University School of Engineering and Computer Science (OUEC). The new facility targeted LEED Gold while incorporating extensive environmentally friendly and sustainable energy approaches and products.

The scope of TEC’s work included auger cast pile load testing, monitoring and evaluation, testing and inspection of cast-in-place concrete, precast concrete masonry, fire proofing, structural steel, building envelope, auger cast pile foundations, structural fill installation, roofing inspection, utility installation, site work and supplemental geotechnical engineering.

TEC staff continually provided their services in a professional, timely manner, and completed the project on time and within the budget.
