The Gratiot Exchange
TEC was retained to provide building and infrastructure engineering and construction materials testing services for the proposed high-rise development that will include 150+ apartments, 12 condos on floors 15 and 16, and ground-level retail and office space.
As if the all the development being done in the area isn’t exciting enough, the Exchange is being built from the top down. A one-million-pound roof deck was lifted into place in June 2022 and the remaining portion of the building will continue to be built from the top down over the next year.
TEC is providing testing and inspection on soils and earthwork, caissons / foundations, concrete, structural steel, decking and shear studs, structural interior masonry, roofing, fire proofing, fire stopping, vibration monitoring, and engineering services.
The development is near Ford Field, Greektown, and the future Innovation District from Bedrock. It’s also located next to an upcoming gateway plaza at Monroe and Randolph.
